Farm stays as weekend getaway works well for families especially with kids who can reconnect with nature and have much more fun than in other places to visit in Bangalore.
Reaching Bangalore Weekend Farm Stay
Geese Haven is located 6.5 Kms from Art of Living Ashram towards Kanakapura. You need to take the left at Somanahalli Gate on Kanakapura road and the Farm is 1.5 kms from there near Kalikambal Temple. It is not too far away and too close to city among places to visit in Bangalore.

Travel tips for Bangalore Weekend Farm Stay
The Farm has a cottage with a cook and caretaker. There are no restaurants nearby and hence the Cook is the only option for Food. Since the kitchen has a fridge and microwave, you can carry some snacks with you.
The last kilometer , after Kalikambal Temple is through a dirt road but manageable. This place is a bit rustic among places to visit in Bangalore!

About the Bangalore Weekend Farm Stay
Geese Haven is roughly 3 acres and has a banana plantation and coconut trees, making it idyllic among places to visit in Bangalore.
Farm animals include sheep, geese, ducks, hens, rabbits and turkey. They keep you noisy company, a far better option than the city noises you hear in other places to visit in Bangalore.
A cute dog is the guardian of the animal folk around here! He is pretty friendly and is usually keen to join in the games. He is let loose at night to keep prowlers on the bay!
The Cottage has a large hall and 2 bedrooms. Furnishing is provided. It is ideal for 2-3 families to stay together and have a good time. Among other places to visit in Bangalore, I found Geese Haven to be one of the better ones for family picnics.
There is a well-manicured lawn available for Tea and playing games. Kids can have a real ball here with the animals!
A bon fire and barbecue is a good way to spend the evening. Badminton, Volleyball and basketball can be played in the open area.
My favourite game was climbing a Coconut Tree! It proved to be quite a task as i had underestimated the effort required.
Walk through the villages
One of the best things to do here is to take a log walk early in the morning through the villages. The trail passes through farms, huts, ant hills and ends at a stream. It is more scenic than most other places to visit in Bangalore.
Fishing is an option during the monsoons when the steam is full. A walk to the Silk Farm nearby is the other activity that is possible, making it more fun filled than most places to visit around Bangalore.
Overall, the farm stay is good idea for families with kids for a quiet weekend getaway from Bangalore.
